- Use cardstock when the board will be handled throughout a party or reused for several games.
- Print a test copy first to confirm that team-name fields, square numbers, and payout sections are legible.
- Use a dark pen or fine-tip marker, and ask participants to write short names or initials inside each box.
- Keep a photo or duplicate copy of the completed board before the game begins.
For a smaller gathering, a 10-by-10 board can still work well when participants claim multiple squares. For a larger event, prepare additional boards and clearly label each one. Before distributing the template, explain the number assignment method, winning checkpoints, prize amounts, and any rules for unclaimed squares. Clear rules prevent confusion and keep the football pool focused on friendly competition.
